Little knowledge about shackles

  Requirements:

  1. The shackle should be smooth and flat, and no cracks, sharp edges, overburning and other defects are allowed.

  2. It is strictly forbidden to use cast iron or cast steel shackles. The buckle body can be forged from killed steel, and the shaft pin can be machined after bar forging.

  3. Do not drill or weld the shackle. After the buckle body and shaft pin are deformed, they cannot be repaired.

  4. When using, check the button body and the latch, and there must be no serious wear, deformation and fatigue cracks.

  5. When in use, the lateral spacing must not be subjected to tension, and the shaft pin must be inserted into the safety pin.

  6. After the shaft pin is correctly assembled, the width of the buckle body must not be significantly reduced, and the thread connection is good.

  7. The use of shackles shall not exceed the specified safety load.

  Inspection before use:

  1. It should be smooth and flat, free from defects such as cracks, sharp edges and overburning. Suspicious areas can be re-examined by means of a magnifying glass.

  2. The shackle is tested with twice the safe load as the test load. The pivot pin must be free of deformation and free to rotate after unscrewing. The increment of the button body length dimension shall not exceed 0.25% or 0.5mm. The test load is 2 times the safe load below 300 tons, and the test load is 1.33 times the safe load above 300 tons.

  3. Sampling reliability test can be carried out for shackles. The load is twice the test load. The shackle shall not be broken or deformed so that the shackle loses its bearing capacity.

  4. The safety load of the shackles in use is approved by M (4) level.

  5. The strength level, safety load and other marks should be marked on the buckle body.

  Scrap standard

  1. There is obvious deformation or the shaft pin cannot rotate freely.

  2. The wear amount of any section of the button body and the shaft pin reaches more than 10% of the original size.

  3. Cracks appear in any part of the shackle.

  4. The shackle cannot be locked.

  5. Unqualified after the shackle test.
