Common lifting tongs are generally composed of seven parts: lifting beam, connecting rod, opening and closing mechanism, synchronizer, tong arm, support plate and tong teeth.
1. Hanging beam: The hanging beam is a part connected with the crane hook. There are three structures: ring shackle connection, sling connection and lug connection. The hanging ring and shackle-type connection of the hanging shaft improves the stress of the spreader, avoids the decoupling phenomenon when loading and unloading billets, and reduces the height of the fixture itself, which is beneficial to use in low places. The hoisting pliers and slings are connected to the suspension shaft, so that the force of the fixture is better, but the height of the sling itself is large, and it needs to be used in a tall place. When hanging the hook, it needs to use manual auxiliary hooks. The hanging lug-type connection suspension shaft can be directly hooked by the crane driver, but the spreader must be placed on the ground during the hoisting operation, and the hook must be lowered until the force is relieved, which may easily lead to the decoupling of the crane hook.
2. Connecting rod: The connecting rod is the connection between the hanging beam and the clamp arm.
3. Opening and closing mechanism: The opening and closing mechanism has manual lifting rod type, (automatic) double hook type, (automatic) single hook type, (automatic) turn lock type and other forms. The automatic opening and closing mechanism is a mechanism to realize the automatic opening and closing of the billet fixture. Its action does not require an external power source, and the automatic opening and closing of the fixture is realized by the gravity of the fixture itself. Lubrication of the opening and closing mechanism: Lubricating oil (or engine oil) must be added regularly (2 to 3 days), and then moved up and down several times until the lubrication is completed. It is strictly forbidden to add excessive grease for lubrication!
4. Synchronizer: The synchronizer is a device to ensure the synchronous action of each clamp arm of the lifting tongs.
5. Clamp arm: The clamp arm is the main force-increasing part of the lifting clamp clamp, through which the steel billet is clamped.
6. Support plate: The support plate is the support of the billet fixture. The support plate is supported on the upper surface of the billet to ensure the smooth operation of the opening and closing mechanism of the billet fixture.
7. Clamp teeth: Clamp teeth have structures such as pin shaft connection, dovetail connection and groove plug-in type. The jaws are the main parts that are in direct contact with the billet, and determine the reliability of the billet clamps to hold the billet.
